Cycle Rides – Events & Overview

Peak Rides have planned and designed cycle rides in the Peak District wherever possible keeping you away from busier roads using our combined knowledge and experience of over 100 years of riding in the Peak.

Our Peak District cycle rides are created with the regular club, sportive and road cyclist in mind to give challenging, but enjoyable cycle rides in the stunning and beautiful Derbyshire countryside - a climber's paradise.

Every rider on a guided/hub ride will receive detailed instructions and a GPX route file.

Each downloadable self-guided ride comes with a GPX file for use with your GPS device and detailed rider notes, and whilst we recommend using a GPS device with map or 'turn' facilities the rider notes will enable you to ride the route without one.

Saturday Hub Rides

We run monthly rides on a Saturday from our cycle hub in Bamford

Each ride takes you through a different area of the Peak District and shows off a rich variety of dales, moors, valleys and climbs, which make the Peak District such a mecca for road cyclists.

All our rides are guided by at least one ride leader who has excellent local knowledge and all riders get a GPX file of the route to use if they wish.

Group sizes (up to three groups) are no more than 8 riders for safety reasons and to keep a "club" feel to the event - no one gets dropped.

A pre-ride bike check is carried out at the hub before the group(s) set off.

The ride takes place over about 7 hours and includes one cafe stop. Bananas and home-made flapjacks are included to ward off the dreaded bonk as well as electrolyte tablets for your water bottles.

Our rides are a great way of exploring the Peak District area with like-minded individuals and in the safe hands of our ride leaders and will be of interest to local riders as well as visitors to the area.

You will have a fantastic day out and have wonderful memories to take back with you.

The start and finish is at the The Anglers Rest in Bamford which has free parking, toilets, changing facilities and a cafe for pre and post ride food and drink.

Ride departure is 9:30am, registration and bike checks from 8.30am. Rides should all return by 5pm.

Maximum of 24 riders on each ride, so book early to reserve your place! Up to 3 ride groups, with the option of faster/slower groups to suit all riders.

Peak Rides do not provide any insurance for you or your bike so please make any necessary insurance arrangements you feel appropriate, prior to the event.

Food and drink at the cafe stop is not included in the price of the event.

Weekend Hub Rides

Why not make a weekend of it and stay with for two nights? Arrive Friday night, ride the Saturday Hub Ride event and enjoy a Sunday morning ride with one of our ride leaders before heading home in the afternoon.

We have partnered with a number of accommodation providers, including the Spring View B&B, and Hayloft and Byre Cottages. There is a high demand for accommodation in the Peak District all year round, so please contact our accommodation providers (contact form provided on their respective pages on our website) if you wish to make a reservation.
